Mulliken Food Pantry Donation
A Mulliken food pantry can better serve community members food and personal care items thanks to a donation from Farm Bureau Insurance of Michigan’s Fuerstenau-Burkett Agency.
“Jim (Fuerstenau) and I are extremely blessed to help out the community and provide them with just a little bit over $2,500, which is then going to provide multiple meals and toiletries for our local families,” said Ashley Burkett of the Lansing-based agency.
The Mulliken Area Food Pantry’s mission is to help Eaton County residents facing food insecurity, whether that’s through donation or the purchase of adequate food, supplies, and funding. Similarly, the Michigan Farm Bureau Family of Companies’ Agent Charitable Fund aims to end hunger in Michigan.
“I’m hoping to get more donations like this from the community,” said Will Simon, president of the Mulliken Area Food Pantry. “Donations like this help us keep going, and without them we would be in trouble.”
